In fact, a thigh lift is a whole complex of procedures that includes the removal of excess fat and skin, as well as, if necessary, tightening of the thigh muscles. Very often it is performed simultaneously with abdominal and buttock plastic surgery.
Stages of the operation:
- General anesthesia.
- Preparation of the surgical field (treatment with antiseptic solutions, etc.).
- Next, the surgeon makes an incision in the skin below the groin fold, the length of which may vary depending on the estimated amount of fat to be removed and may extend around the entire circumference of the thigh.
- Then, with careful movements, the doctor separates the skin from the subcutaneous tissue and cuts off the excess.
- After that, liposuction and muscle lifting are performed.
- At the end of the operation, the surgeon tightens the skin of the thighs and sutures the wound.
The entire thigh lift operation takes 3–6 hours. To avoid serious complications such as thrombophlebitis, necrosis in the surgical area, tissue detachment, accumulation of serous fluid in the thigh area, and wound suppuration, thigh plastic surgery should only be performed in reputable medical institutions, such as a plastic surgery center.
