Rhinoplasty remains one of the most popular procedures in facial plastic surgery. At the same time, patient attitudes are evolving: today, the decision to undergo surgery is made more consciously, with a focus on safety, natural-looking results, and trust in the surgeon.
To better understand how modern audiences think, a survey was conducted among the Instagram followers of plastic surgeon Dmytro Slosser. Several hundred respondents took part, allowing for meaningful insights into current perceptions of rhinoplasty.

Are People Interested in Rhinoplasty: A Considered Approach

According to the survey, more than half of respondents have considered changing the shape of their nose at least once. Some are seriously contemplating rhinoplasty, while others are simply interested in the topic. At the same time, a significant portion of the audience does not plan to undergo surgery. This is an important signal:
today, rhinoplasty is not an impulsive decision, but a personal choice that develops gradually.

At What Age Do People Most Often Consider Rhinoplasty

The largest share of respondents were aged 35–45 and 45+. This indicates that interest in nasal plastic surgery increases with life experience.

  • better understand their expectations
  • are less driven by trends
  • make more rational decisions

As a result, consultations become more in-depth, and patient requests more specific.

How Rhinoplasty Is Perceived Today

Most respondents have a positive attitude toward rhinoplasty, while a significant share remains neutral. Negative perceptions are virtually absent. This reflects a shift in mindset: nasal plastic surgery is no longer taboo, but is viewed as a standard medical practice.

The Main Reason for Rhinoplasty Is Not Only Aesthetics

One of the key findings of the survey is the answer to why people choose rhinoplasty. Most respondents believe the primary reason is a combination of:

  • aesthetic improvement
  • improved breathing

How Patients Choose a Plastic Surgeon

The most important factor before surgery, according to respondents, is trust in the doctor. Less important are:

  • predictability of results
  • length of the recovery period

This confirms an important trend: patients are not simply choosing rhinoplasty—they are choosing the surgeon, their experience, approach, and openness in communication.

What Result Is Considered Ideal Today

The survey revealed a clear trend: a preference for natural-looking rhinoplasty. Most respondents selected:

  • subtle changes
  • minimal corrections

rhinoplasty-dr-slosserOnly a small percentage opted for a dramatic change in nose shape. This indicates that modern rhinoplasty is not about radically altering one’s appearance, but about harmonizing facial features and preserving individuality.

Where Patients Look for Information About Rhinoplasty

The main sources of information remain:

  • social media (Instagram)
  • recommendations from acquaintances

Google search is used less frequently, while artificial intelligence currently has minimal influence. This means that the decision to undergo surgery is shaped by:
trust

  • real-life examples
  • direct communication with the doctor

Key Rhinoplasty Trends for 2026

Based on the Instagram survey, several key trends can be identified:

  • patients make decisions gradually
  • the core audience is aged 35+
  • a balance between aesthetics and function is essential
  • trust in the surgeon is the key factor
  • demand for natural results dominates
  • information is primarily consumed via social media

Conclusion: How the Approach to Rhinoplasty Has Changed

Modern rhinoplasty is no longer about quick decisions or trends. It is about a conscious choice based on trust, the surgeon’s expertise, and the desire for a natural result.
That is why a consultation with a plastic surgeon becomes a crucial step: it helps patients understand the possibilities of the procedure, assess individual features, and form realistic expectations.
